What is SteamSense?

SteamSense is a free tool that turns Steam reviews into readable insight. Instead of scrolling through thousands of reviews, you get an AI-generated breakdown of how players actually feel about a game: a sentiment distribution across five emotional tiers, the topics players discuss most (with positive/negative ratios for each), and a concise editorial report that summarizes praise, complaints, and risk signals.

Beyond single-game analysis, SteamSense tracks the review data itself over time. Steam's storefront only shows you the current state of a game's reviews — it doesn't show review bombs building up, reviews quietly disappearing, or a score recovering week by week. Our daily snapshots make that path visible.

How it works

SteamSense indexes review statistics for over 166,000 Steam games — total review counts, positive and negative counts, and positive ratios — refreshed on a rolling daily schedule. For 800+ actively tracked games, we record a daily snapshot at 03:00 UTC and compute day-over-day deltas, which power our anomaly detection: review volume spikes, sudden positive-ratio shifts, and score-tier changes are flagged automatically on the Anomaly Radar.

When you analyze a game, we collect its most helpful Steam reviews and run a three-step AI pipeline: sentiment classification, topic clustering, and report generation. Results are cached, so popular games load instantly; a first-time analysis takes about a minute. All data comes from public Steam storefront endpoints.
